Diseases like type 2 disease, cardiovascular disease, stroke and obesity are among the most threatening diseases in the current scenario. Researchers have currently put forward an idea of developing safe therapies against them.  Researchers have begun to reveal the pathways that explain the process of nervous system regulating the body weight and cardiovascular function. But still the whole cycle controlling the pathways remains unclear. The team has identified whole mechanism for MC4R mediated regulation of blood pressure and insulin levels controlled by the nervous system.

Moreover one more important discovery came into existence that MC4R inhibits parasympathetic neurons in central nervous system by activating the sympathetic neurons of the brain.

MC4Rs present in the CNS areas play a very keen role in maintaining insulin levels to regulate type 2 diabetes by balancing the positive and negative forces in the brain. For the cardiovascular diseases, obesity is one of the major factors to cause the increase body weight, blood pressure and insulin levels.

In order to reduce the increasing rate of these disorders the main prevention goal must be to understand the physiological process leading to the weight gain. This study indicates the complexicity involved in the CNS pathway controlling the metabolic balance and the improvements to be done for the safe therapies.
